The Lead Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing account reconciliations, managing the general ledger, and executing month-end closing activities. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the verification, allocation, posting, and reconciliation of accounts payable and receivable.
  • Generate precise accounting reports and effectively communicate their findings.
  • Evaluate financial data and provide a summary of financial conditions.
  • Identify discrepancies and propose improvements for operational efficiency and cost management.
  • Review and suggest enhancements to accounting systems and processes.
  • Supervise accounting assistants and bookkeeping staff.
  • Engage in the establishment of financial standards and contribute to the forecasting process.
  • Offer insights into departmental goal-setting initiatives.
  • Prepare financial statements and ensure timely budget production.
  • Assist with tax audits and the preparation of tax returns.
  • Support both internal and external audits to guarantee compliance.
  • Facilitate the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to reinforce internal controls.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP standards.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in a dynamic small business setting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of fundamental accounting practices.
  • In-depth familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and DCAA Accounting Requirements.
  • Awareness of industry trends and relevant tools.
  • Proficient in financial accounting statements.
  • Understanding of Revenue Recognition principles and methodologies.
  • Experience with general ledger operations and the month-end/year-end closing process.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems, particularly Office 365 Dynamics Finance and Operations, along with a working knowledge of QuickBooks Online. Familiarity with O365 flows, Power-BI data extraction, and other analytical tools in the O365 suite is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including V-lookup and pivot tables.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong numerical aptitude and analytical skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation is preferred.
