Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist I to join our team at Quest Diagnostics in Pembroke Pines, FL. As a Phlebotomist I, you will be responsible for collecting specimens from patients, administering oral solutions, and performing various laboratory tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Collect specimens from patients in a timely and efficient manner, following established procedures.
  • Administer oral solutions to patients as required.
  • Verify patient information and test orders using lab technology systems and approved tools.
  • Enter data accurately and navigate computer systems to perform tasks.
  • Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport.
  • Perform non-patient facing duties, such as inventory management, sanitizing, and filing.
  • Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data as required.
  • Maintain phlebotomy logs in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical training, such as medical assistant or paramedic training, preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
  • One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience required.
