Senior Tax Accountant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Accountant to join our dynamic team at Carrie Rikon & Associates, LLC. As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for providing expert tax planning and compliance services to our clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance: Prepare and review complex corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Tax Planning: Advise clients or internal stakeholders on tax planning strategies to optimize their financial position and minimize tax liabilities.
  • Research and Analysis: Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, research tax issues, and provide insightful analysis to support decision-making.
  • Client Management: Build and maintain relationships with clients or internal departments, addressing their tax-related concerns, and providing proactive advice.
  • Audit Support: Assist in tax audits by gathering necessary documentation, responding to inquiries from tax authorities, and representing the organization in discussions with tax authorities.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance and legal departments, to ensure a holistic approach to tax compliance and planning.
  • Training and Development: Stay informed about industry trends and share knowledge with junior team members, contributing to their professional development.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Must have a CPA or be eligible to take the CPA exam.
  • Must currently work in Public Accounting.
  • At least three years of experience with tax preparation for individuals and corporations.
  • Proficient in tax preparation software (e.g., TurboTax, ProSeries, etc.).
  • Familiarity with accounting and ERP software.
  • Strong understanding of tax regulations and accounting principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to articulate complex tax concepts to clients clearly and understandably.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to think strategically and make informed decisions.
