Job Summary

Body Fit Plus Inc is seeking a skilled Recreational Therapist to join our team at a correctional facility in California. As a Recreational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic services to patients, promoting their physical and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with the Director of Recreational Therapy and interdisciplinary treatment team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Provide feedback to the treatment team regarding patient response to therapy, treatment interventions, and therapeutic objectives.
  • Conduct assessments to identify psychosocial and leisure skills development/deficiency in patients.
  • Document interventions and ensure they are based on the patient's plan of care.
  • Teach coping skills and stress management techniques to patients, promoting a balanced lifestyle.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of counseling and therapeutic concepts to determine therapeutic services for patients with psychiatric, traumatic, and chemically dependent conditions.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of group dynamics and therapy, as well as group processing techniques.
Requirements
  • Twelve (12) continuous months of experience within the last three (3) years rendering direct patient care in a public or private institution, with current clinical competencies.
  • Valid Photo ID, Driver's License, or Passport.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • NATIONAL or CA Recreational Therapist Certificate.
