Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat respiratory diseases, defects, or injuries, recommending or prescribing treatments to alleviate physical, mental, or functional ailments.
- Provide medical treatment to patients without regard to their ability to pay, adhering to professional standards of care and respecting patients' rights.
- Maintain accurate, legible, and timely records of medical examinations and procedures, utilizing Current Procedural Terminology and International Classification of Diseases codes.
- Participate in after-hours call coverage, collaborating with other physicians to ensure seamless patient care.
- Comply with medical standards, managed care regulations, and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations guidelines.
- Enhance clinical skills through ongoing continuing medical education, meeting certification and state licensing board requirements.
- Engage in non-revenue generating activities that advance Prisma Health's vision and mission, such as serving on committees, participating in community outreach, and contributing to teaching and research initiatives.
- Assist in responding to requests for proposals for managed care contracts and participate in quality assurance, utilization management, patient education, and patient satisfaction programs.
- Support Employer in obtaining and maintaining licenses, permits, and authorizations, as well as achieving applicable accreditation standards.
Supervisory/Management Responsibility
This is a non-management role that reports to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree
- Successful completion of residency, board certification, or board eligibility, and medical staff privileges
Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses
- South Carolina Medical License
- South Carolina Controlled Substance License
- Drug Enforcement Agency Number
