Position Summary:
Troubled Muse Studios is in search of a Technical Director with extensive expertise in Unreal Engine. This position focuses on optimizing our cutting-edge production workflow, ensuring both efficiency and dependability in our tools and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, enhance, and oversee pipeline tools and methodologies for VFX, Storytelling, Editorial, and Virtual Production teams, guaranteeing seamless operation and effectiveness.
- Manage the performance and dependability of systems and projects utilizing Unreal Engine, Maya, and Z-brush.
- Identify and address systemic challenges within our tools, plugins, and workflows, particularly for Unreal Engine applications in VFX and Virtual Production.
- Work collaboratively with creative teams and leadership to ensure tool development meets their requirements and production needs.
- Employ programming skills in Python, Blueprint, and C++ to devise innovative solutions.
- Offer technical assistance to artists, addressing production challenges including data and asset management across various projects.
- Maintain and refresh internal and external documentation.
- Train staff and external studios on the effective utilization of pipeline tools.
- Stay updated on new tools, software innovations, and trends within the animation sector.
Qualifications:
- Relevant experience or a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Animation Production.
- Proficient in Unreal Engine, Python, Blueprint, and mathematical principles.
- Self-driven with a strong interest in developing new production and virtual production techniques using Unreal Engine.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience with Shotgrid.
- Able to innovate and tackle unique and complex challenges.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to cultivate a creative, artist-centric environment within the team.
