The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing direct nursing care to our residents and supervising the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants.
Key Responsibilities- Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants, ensuring that high-quality care is maintained.
- Meet with nursing staff and support personnel to plan shifts, services, programs, and activities.
- Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required, providing leadership to nursing personnel assigned to your unit/shift.
- Chart nurses' notes in an informative and descriptive manner, reflecting the care provided to residents and their response to care.
- Prepare and administer medications as ordered by physicians, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
- Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel and other departments within the facility.
- Create and maintain a calm and positive environment throughout the unit and shift.
- Administer professional services such as catheterization, tube feedings, and applying and changing dressings/bandages, as required.
- Monitor assigned personnel to ensure they are following established safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies.
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information, including protected health information.
