Position Overview

A Sanitation Worker plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene within the food and beverage manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for ensuring that the plant meets the stringent Quality Control and Bacterial Standards set forth by Suja Life and relevant regulatory bodies.

Work Schedule:

- 1st Shift: 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM
- 2nd Shift: 1:00 PM - 9:30 PM
- 3rd Shift: 9:00 PM - 5:30 AM

Key Responsibilities
  • Efficiently clean and sanitize the production area.
  • Work alongside large processing machinery while utilizing appropriate cleaning agents.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve sanitation goals.
  • Assist in the transportation of heavy equipment using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other tools.
  • Maintain accurate records as required.
  • Perform manual tasks such as sweeping, shoveling, and disposing of waste.
  • Engage in heavy labor, including scrubbing and rinsing operations.

Adhere to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines.

Working Environment

This role involves working in a wet, refrigerated manufacturing setting with temperatures often below 40°F. Occasionally, tasks may be performed in a dry warehouse environment with temperatures reaching up to 85°F, and there may be exposure to freezer conditions at -10°F.

Work areas may be confined, requiring exposure to noise levels exceeding 85 dBA. Strict adherence to safety protocols is essential, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, ear protection, and steel-toed footwear.

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be capable of standing and walking for the duration of their shift. The role requires lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs, as well as pushing or pulling loads of up to 100 lbs. Tasks may involve repetitive bending, kneeling, reaching overhead, stooping, squatting, and twisting.

Climbing ladders and stairs may be necessary, and candidates should be able to handle objects with good grip strength and manual dexterity. Occasional exposure to moving machinery is expected, and passing a fit-for-duty physical examination is required.
