Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse - Corrections

The Licensed Practical Nurse - Corrections works in a fast-paced environment, providing general and emergency nursing care to adults and children in custody. This role requires close collaboration with healthcare professionals to ensure the highest level of care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Collaborate with RNs and physicians to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Monitor patient safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
  • Participate in infection control activities and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Document patient responses to nursing interventions.
Requirements:
  • Possesses a current Practical Nursing License in the applicable state.
  • Minimum of one year experience in Corrections preferred.
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
  • Current CPR if applicable.
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site.
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
