Dishroom Porter

Job Title: Porter

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Porter to join our team at Le Pain Quotidien - Larchmont. As a Porter, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen and dishroom areas.

Responsibilities:

• Loading and Unloading: Safely and efficiently load, operate, and unload the dish machine.
• Sanitation and Maintenance: Keep the dish machine and sinks clean, and report any functional or mechanical problems.
• Washing and Storage: Wash and store all kitchenware, baskets, and crates.
• Inventory Management: Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies.
• Chemical Management: Properly label, replenish, and store chemicals.
• Delivery and Storage: Put away delivery or orders as assigned.
• Refrigerator and Freezer Maintenance: Ensure refrigerators and freezers are clean, organized, and well-maintained.
• Equipment and Tool Maintenance: Maintain adequate levels of clean small wares, equipment, and tools in the bakery and kitchen.
• Food Preparation: Assist with basic food preparation according to the checklist and prep sheets.
• Opening, Mid, and Closing Procedures: Complete all opening, mid, and closing procedures, and complete daily checklist and side work assignments.
• Cleaning and Organization: Keep all areas of the restaurant clean and organized by following the cleaning checklist.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 3 to 6 months of related restaurant experience or training preferred.
• Schedule Flexibility: Flexibility in schedule is highly preferred but not required.
• Language Skills: Ability to speak, read, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location.
