Job Summary:

As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing and analyzing cardiac ultrasound tests, including M-mode, two-dimensional, pulsed and continuous wave, color flow Doppler, and transesophageal echocardiography (TEE).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform and analyze cardiac ultrasound tests, including M-mode, two-dimensional, pulsed and continuous wave, color flow Doppler, and TEE.
  • Prepare equipment and supplies according to established departmental procedures.
  • Interact with patients by identifying yourself and verifying their identity.
  • Explain procedures and equipment to patients clearly.
  • Maintain equipment for proper function and safety.
  • Clean and prepare equipment for patient applications.
  • Document echocardiograms according to departmental procedures.
  • Enter, maintain, and record all pertinent data.
  • Inform physicians of any changes in patient condition or vital signs.
Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree in a related field and completion of an accredited program in Ultrasound or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Registered or registry eligible to take the Registry exam (ARDMS) within 1 year of hire date.
  • Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation required.
  • Must maintain active registry status.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Registered by the American Registry to Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
