Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Orthopedic Technologist to join our team at Loyola Medicine, a member of Trinity Health. As an Orthopedic Technologist, you will work under the direction of the unit manager, physicians, and nursing professionals in the application and removal of specific orthopedic casts, soft goods, and braces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply and remove orthopedic casts, soft goods, and braces
  • Perform a wide variety of services as a member of the patient care team, including advanced technical patient care procedures and general patient procedures
  • Assist with tasks that support the unit in maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work environment
  • Perform additional responsibilities, including application of specific casts, application of braces, application of soft goods, application of pressure dressings, assist in gait teaching, demonstrate care of external fixtures, coordinate and organize plaster materials, and removal of cast and other orthopedic appliances
Requirements
  • High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education
  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification
  • Preferred: Certified Orthopedic Technologist Program
