Combat Vehicle Technician

About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced mechanic to join our team at General Dynamics Land Systems. As a Combat Vehicle Mechanic, you will play a critical role in the maintenance and repair of our cutting-edge combat vehicles, ensuring they are in top condition for our military customers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform troubleshooting and repair on Stryker Family of Vehicles, including identifying and resolving faults, failures, and deficiencies.
* Utilize download equipment to transfer and read data, managing software configuration and performing preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS).
* Understand and describe acronyms related to turret and related LRU systems, identifying parts through IETM, Schematics, and cross-reference based on vehicle configuration.
* Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions in automotive systems, including power-pack engine, transmission, cooling, fuel, exhaust, driveline, and suspension using built-in test equipment (BITE), test equipment, and/or manual troubleshooting procedures (MTPs).
* Repair sub-systems and components, line replacement units (LRUs) of the Stryker, disassembling, removing, and replacing worn/damaged/defective parts, adjusting, reassembling, and testing using applicable technical documentation.
Requirements:
* 3 to 5 years of related work experience required.
* High school diploma or GED required.
* Associates degree preferred.
* Excellent communication skills, along with a professional demeanor extending to all levels of the organization.
* Proven progressive problem-solving skills, ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks, and strong strategic thinking, organizational, and judgment skills.
* Self-starter capable of working independently, with leadership qualities and the ability to articulate directions and effectively train/mentor others.
* Promote and maintain a collaborative work style, fostering cooperation and teamwork in achieving business objectives.
* Experience and/or ability to interact with multiple departmental technologies, knowledge of GDLS products, processes, and military terminology, and thorough knowledge of Microsoft Applications.
* Documented trade school, certified technical training, or commercial training required.
* Must be able to meet and maintain ASR requirements, gain and maintain access to military facilities, and lift 50lbs.
* Secret Clearance required.
Physical Requirements:
* Work in improved and unimproved maintenance facilities, as well as field environments.
* Ability to adjust to customer work schedule changes, occasional work in confined spaces within vehicle interiors, and potential exposure to temperature extremes in performance of duties.
* Normal color vision, dexterity in fingers of both hands, pickup, and carry 70lbs for a distance of 50 feet.
* Successfully pass and maintain physical deployment requirements, government/military SRP requirements for deployment, and ASR requirements, military BMI requirements.
