Job Overview:
The primary objective of this role is to carry out the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department in alignment with the regulations governing our healthcare facility. This position will report directly to the Director of Environmental Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute daily housekeeping tasks as assigned.
- Perform specific duties according to daily work schedules.
- Maintain cleanliness of furnishings, fixtures, and heating/cooling units in resident and communal areas.
- Sanitize and polish bathroom fixtures, ensuring removal of water marks.
- Clean windows and mirrors in resident rooms and common areas.
- Maintain floors through sweeping, dusting, mopping, stripping, waxing, and disinfecting.
- Care for carpets by vacuuming, shampooing, and deodorizing.
- Wash and dust walls and ceilings, ensuring a clean environment.
- Utilize appropriate cleaning solutions to remove dirt and grime from surfaces.
- Ensure hallways, stairways, and elevators are kept clean.
- Properly dispose of waste and ensure trash receptacles are lined.
- Clean and prepare vacant rooms as needed.
- Ensure all areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and welcoming manner.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a minimum of a high school diploma. Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding the English language is required. The ability to interact tactfully with residents, families, and staff is essential. Candidates should be willing to collaborate effectively with colleagues and engage with residents at their respective maturity levels. Following written and verbal instructions regarding cleaning compounds and solutions is a necessary skill.
