As a Foster Family Support Worker, you will provide one-on-one support to foster children in their foster home and community, focusing on daily living, social interaction, behavior management, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized support to foster children, promoting their emotional, social, and behavioral well-being.
- Collaborate with foster families and the treatment team to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Assist foster children with daily living skills, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
- Support foster children in developing social interaction and communication skills.
- Monitor and report on foster children's progress, providing recommendations for improvement.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-high school education or specialized training preferred.
- At least six months of experience working with children and/or families, with a focus on children with special needs.
- Valid State of Maine driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Familiarity with child development, developmental disabilities, and mental health needs.
Woodfords Family Services is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with special needs and their families. With over 55 years of experience, we provide a range of clinical, behavioral health, and educational programs to over 2,000 children, youth, and adults in Maine.
