Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Sewer Construction Inspector to join our team at the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for overseeing and participating in the inspection of sewer construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect multiple concurrent sewer and facility projects under District contract
  • Interpret detailed construction plans and specifications
  • Prepare quantities and calculations for monthly pay applications
  • Meet with stakeholders throughout the construction of a project
  • Investigate customer service inquiries
Additional Responsibilities
  • Approve minor grade and elevation changes
  • Maintain records and prepare reports
  • Perform related work as required or delegated by supervisor
Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Four years of progressively responsible experience in construction and inspection of sewers
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Considerable knowledge of sewer construction methods, materials, practices, and techniques
  • Considerable knowledge of standard engineering field tests
  • Skill in estimating quantities and quality of construction materials
  • Skill in using level and transit
  • Skill in forming and maintaining effective working relationships with contractors and the general public
  • Skill in supervising the work of others
  • Skill in maintaining records and preparing reports
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license issued by state of residence
  • Pass a Non-D.O.T. Drug Test
