Job Title: Caregiver - Long Term Care

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to join our team at Aftenro Society Home for the Aged. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting residents with activities of daily living, such as transfers, showers, dressing, grooming, and toileting. You will also be responsible for obtaining vital signs and weights, delivering meal trays to residents dining in their rooms, transporting residents to and from meals and activities, making shiftly rounds on assigned residents, and answering call lights.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including transfers, showers, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Obtain vital signs and weights.
  • Deliver meal trays to residents dining in their rooms.
  • Transport residents to and from meals and activities.
  • Make shiftly rounds on assigned residents.
  • Answer call lights.
Requirements:
  • 16 years or older.
  • Pass a MN DHS Background Study.
  • Every other weekend rotation is required for .3 or greater.
  • Current CNA certification preferred, if enrolled in a CNA class we can start training you now.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Work Environment:

Aftenro Society Home for the Aged is a small, long-term care facility located on 5 acres near UMD and St. Scholastica. We feature all private rooms and bathrooms for our residents in our 100-year-old building that features carpeted halls and rooms with antique wood and stained glass windows.
