A leading healthcare staffing provider, LocumJobsOnline, is working with Aya Locums to find a qualified General Surgery Physician Assistant in a dynamic medical setting.
Job Responsibilities- Conduct thorough medical histories and perform physical exams to diagnose and treat patients.
- Prescribe medications and manage medication regimens to ensure optimal patient care.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures to inform treatment decisions.
- Assist in surgeries and other medical procedures to provide comprehensive care.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Document patient care in electronic medical records to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless care coordination.
- An active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in the state of employment.
- Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills to navigate complex patient cases.
- Ability to prioritize and manage a high-volume patient caseload with ease.
- Adaptability to work in a variety of medical settings, including hospitals and clinics.
- Knowledge of medical laws and ethics to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Ability to interpret and analyze medical data and lab results to inform treatment decisions.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records and technology to streamline documentation and communication.
- Collaboration and teamwork skills to work effectively with other healthcare providers.
- 5, 8-Hour shifts, including night shifts.
- A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant field, such as biology or chemistry.
- A Master of Medical Science (MMSc) degree or a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPAS) degree.
- National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Continued medical education (CME) to maintain NCCPA certification and medical licenses.
