Job Summary:

As a Co-Occurring Counselor at United Community Services Healthcare, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive treatment services to patients struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess clients referred for substance abuse and mental health evaluations and make appropriate treatment recommendations.
  • Provide individual and group counseling to patients, utilizing evidence-based practices and a personalized approach to treatment.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of client progress, treatment plans, and aftercare recommendations.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in social work, mental health, or a related field.
  • Licensed in Iowa as an independent clinician (LMFT, LMSW, or LISW) or working towards independent licensure within one year of hire.
  • Certified or working towards CADC certification within one year of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Licensed as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW).
  • Current Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) certification with the Iowa Board of Certification.
