SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a highly skilled Lead Archaeologist to join our team in Baton Rouge, LA. As a key member of our Cultural Resources team, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing cultural resource projects, ensuring high-quality services and compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Project Management: Oversee cultural resource projects, including field research, data collection, analysis, and report production.
- Technical Authorship: Serve as the primary author on technical reports, research designs, and other documentation.
- Staff Development: Train and mentor staff in research protocols, technical reporting, and site recording.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaboration: Work closely with local and regional teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Client Relationships: Cultivate strong relationships with agency contacts, clients, and stakeholders.
- Additional Duties: Manage budgets, proposals, and client interactions, demonstrating proficiency in project management and effective delegation.
- Education: Master's degree in Archaeology or Anthropology.
- Experience: Minimum of eight (8) years of archaeology fieldwork experience, with academic or research-oriented supervisory experience considered.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of NEPA and Section 106 regulations.
- Professional Certification: Registered Professional Archaeologist status or eligibility.
- Skills: Experience with content editing of reports and project scheduling/budgeting.
- Travel: Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.

An employee in this Baton Rouge, LA-based position can expect a salary of $75,400.00 - $98,280.00 per year. Regular-status employees are also eligible for performance bonuses.
