Shipfitter Craftsman

Labor One Staffing is a leading provider of skilled labor services for the shipbuilding industry.

We are seeking an experienced Shipfitter Craftsman to join our team in Panama City, FL. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for fabricating and installing metal structural parts on ships.

• Fabricate and install metal structural parts, including plates, bulkheads, and frames, according to specifications and blueprints.
• Brace parts in position within the hull of ships for riveting or welding.
• Prepare molds and templates for fabrication of nonstandard parts.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in shipfitting, with experience working with metal structural parts and shipyard equipment. You will also need excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 3-5 years of shipfitting experience desired.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools used in ship construction.
• Ability to read and comprehend written, oral, or diagram forms.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

The estimated salary for this role is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
