Nuclear Medicine Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a full range of nuclear medicine diagnostic and therapeutic imaging procedures to provide optimum information for the diagnosis and/or treatment of patients.
Key Responsibilities- Perform nuclear medicine diagnostic and therapeutic imaging procedures to provide high-quality images for patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Assess patients' needs related to comfort, hygiene, and range of motion, and provide support accordingly.
- Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff in accordance with Radiation Safety Department policy, procedure, and guidelines.
- Report equipment failures immediately and ensure the performance of radiology services.
- Participate in planning and implementing change, maintaining and improving high-quality, cost-effective department operations.
- Current Nuclear Medicine license through the West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technology Board or applicable state licensure.
- Registration by the ARRT or NMTCB as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
- Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.

- Exposure to cleaning agents and disinfectants.
- Ability to prioritize and deal with a variety of situations simultaneously.
- Ability to interact positively with patients, families, and members of the Health Care Team.
- Ability to improvise with altered positioning techniques, manipulation of the equipment, and accessory devices when routine positioning is compromised due to patient's condition, age, or ability.
