Job Summary

The Good Samaritan Society is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our team. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing resident-centered care and daily living assistance to our residents in long-term care. You will work closely with our nursing team to ensure the highest level of care and support for our residents.

Responsibilities
  • Provide resident-centered care and daily living assistance to assigned residents
  • Assist with basic health care needs, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and vital sign collection
  • Provide psychosocial support and other personal care to assigned residents
  • Assist with transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment
  • Complete tasks related to food preparation and dining, while creating a positive dining experience for residents
  • Aid providers and nursing staff members with procedures, if needed
  • Document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary
Requirements
  • High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
  • Minimum age of 16
  • Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
  • Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement
