Job Summary

The Ajax Tavern Back Server will serve food and beverage in a timely, friendly, and professional manner according to established standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve food to guests according to established standards and procedures.
  • Assist in clearing dishes from guests and maintaining a clean and organized dining area.
  • Expedite food from the kitchen to guests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Be responsible for station set-up and side work, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Maintain the proper care and cleanliness of serving equipment and utensils.
  • Stack and handle china, glass, and silverware to avoid breakage and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Clean the kitchen pick-up service station throughout the shift and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Assist in closing jobs, including resetting the dining room, stocking equipment, and performing other tasks as needed.
  • Attend daily pre-meal meetings to review menu items, discuss any issues or concerns, and receive feedback.
  • Maintain positive communication with service and kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and efficient service experience.
  • Make management aware of guest comments and complaints, and take steps to resolve any issues.
  • Display knowledge of all menu items and be able to answer questions and make recommendations to guests.
  • Maintain positive communication with service personnel to ensure a seamless service experience.
  • Carry necessary tools, such as crumbers and corkscrews, to perform job duties.
  • Report to work in a neatly groomed and acceptable manner, as outlined in the employee handbook.
