We are seeking a highly skilled Field Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Altec. As a Field Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our heavy equipment, ensuring that our fleet is in top working condition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components
  • Utilize technical support resources, such as operator manuals and maintenance guides, to troubleshoot and repair equipment
  • Conduct unit condition inspections and reports to ensure equipment is in good working condition
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to Altec's safety practices and procedures
  • Provide accurate and sufficient information on required documents, such as work orders and repair reports
  • Demonstrate Altec's company values, including customer first, enjoyment of work, family, financial stability, integrity, people are our greatest strength, quality, spiritual development, and teamwork
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in mechanics, electrical, or hydraulic systems preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be willing to travel and work overtime as needed
  • Develop basic computer skills with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to support customers by working overtime
  • Advocate safety in everything we do
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous field mechanic and/or equipment service experience
  • Education in mechanics, electrical, or hydraulic systems
  • Experience with aerial devices, digger derricks, chippers, cranes, or construction, mining, farm equipment, or military heavy equipment
