Job OpportunityChildren's Advantage, a leading provider of child-centered, family-focused community-based services, is seeking a skilled Counselor or Therapist to join our team in Portage County. Our mission is to promote the healthy development of children and families through quality behavioral, mental health, and substance use prevention and treatment services, community partnerships, and advocacy.Responsibilities
  • Conduct psychosocial intake diagnostic assessments with children and families to identify needs and develop treatment plans.
  • Provide individual, family, and group counseling sessions to address mental health concerns and promote social functioning.
  • Develop and implement therapeutic interventions to address a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship problems.
  • Collaborate with schools, community agencies, and other stakeholders to provide comprehensive support services.
  • Document client progress and maintain accurate records of treatment plans and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, with a Master's Degree preferred.
  • License to practice as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Ohio.
  • Experience working with children and families, preferably in a school-based or outpatient setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
