Shift: 2nd Shift & 3rd Shift
Compensation:
Up to $31 HOUR
Key Responsibilities:
Precision machining of metals including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum to stringent tolerances (e.g., .0002").
Conducting inspections of components during production utilizing precision measuring tools.
Overseeing and maintaining appropriate machine fluid levels.
Interpreting process sheets, blueprints, and part sketches to ascertain machining requirements, dimensional specifications, setup, and operational procedures.
Modifying pre-existing programs under guidance when necessary for process enhancements and troubleshooting.
Securing workpieces in chucks, faceplates, or fixtures.
Selecting and installing preset tooling in tool posts, turrets, cutters, and automatic tool change magazines according to the specified sequence on the process sheet.
Monitoring numerical control displays on the control panel, comparing with data on process sheets to confirm dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and machining speeds.
Evaluating the first run piece and conducting spot checks on subsequent pieces for compliance with specifications.
Reviewing job packets and organizing materials for upcoming orders during cycles to minimize cycle and setup time.
Pre-setting tools prior to positioning them in the lathe.
Setting up and operating additional machine tools during machining cycles.
Establishing and operating CNC machines using setup sheets and written instructions with minimal oversight.
Employing various inspection instruments to verify work per print independently.
Possessing knowledge of diverse cutting tools and the capability to determine various machine speeds and feeds.
Performing basic equipment maintenance and possessing essential hand tools.
Cross-training on other machinery within the facility as required.

Capability to perform machine setup, including installing appropriate chuck jaws and tooling.
Basic understanding of equipment and processes relevant to the area of responsibility.
Ability to read precision measuring instruments.
Basic blueprint reading skills.
Fundamental programming knowledge or experience.
Basic setup capabilities.
Basic tooling knowledge.
Basic understanding of feeds and speeds.
Ability to inspect work and meet quality standards.
Basic understanding of gearing terminology.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
