Salary: $17.05 - $17.58 per hour (pay range)
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Substitute/Aide to join our team. As a key member of our early childhood education program, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and safety of all children, while assisting teachers/caregivers to implement the classroom curriculum and daily routine. Your focus will be on promoting school readiness and parent engagement.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain visual and auditory supervision of children at all times, following active supervision procedures.
• Create a welcoming environment for children and their family members, ensuring that all classroom activities are developmentally appropriate and supportive of children's learning styles.
• Assist teaching staff with the implementation of daily curriculum, interacting with children at their level to support learning opportunities and encourage problem-solving skills.
• Participate in family-style meals, share in maintaining a clean, safe, healthy learning environment, and perform daily visual checks to ensure safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of children, families, and co-workers, upholding professional boundaries in relationships.
Requirements:
• Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Attend all agency required training and maintain registry in MRTQ.
• Pass background checks.
Qualifications:
• Experience working with young children and their families, preferably in an early childhood education setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
• Ability to maintain a calm and composed demeanor in challenging situations.
Bonus Information:
A sign-on bonus of $250 is available for successful candidates.
