The Edge CV team, part of the Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) division, is seeking a dedicated and innovative Applied Scientist with a robust background in deep learning. This role focuses on developing cutting-edge technology utilizing computer vision and multimodal perception models tailored for various edge applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a team of skilled professionals to create novel algorithms and modeling techniques that push the boundaries of multimodal models, particularly in computer vision.

- Utilize Amazon's diverse data resources and extensive computing capabilities to drive advancements in AGI within the perception domain.
A Day in the Life
As an Applied Scientist within the AGI team, you will engage in designing scientific solutions, conducting experiments, researching innovative algorithms, and optimizing customer experiences. You will also set standards for best practices in scientific methodologies. Your role will involve both theoretical exploration and practical implementation, working closely with talented engineers and scientists to bring algorithms and models to fruition.
About the Team
The Edge CV team is committed to delivering top-tier computer vision and multimodal models that support a variety of low-latency perception-based applications for devices within Amazon.
Basic Qualifications
- PhD or Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in developing models for business applications.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or similar.
- Experience in developing and implementing deep learning algorithms, especially in the realm of computer vision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Publications in prestigious peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
- Experience with Vision Language Models, Audio-Video fusion, and multi-modal Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Familiarity with optimizing computer vision models for deployment on devices (including techniques like pruning, quantization, and distillation).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.

Our compensation reflects the labor market across various US regions. The base salary for this role ranges from $136,000 to $222,200, depending on geographic location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon offers a comprehensive compensation package that may include equity, sign-on bonuses, and a full range of medical and financial benefits.
