**Job Summary**

The News Producer I role at Nexstar Media Group is a critical position that requires a skilled professional to produce daily newscast items, decide the order in which stories will be told, write teases and other content, time news programs, edit video, and post video to the website.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Produce newscasts for broadcast across all platforms, ensuring high-quality content that meets the company's standards.
  • Write and order news stories, balancing news and feature content to create compelling broadcasts.
  • Approve scripts, ensuring they meet the company's editorial standards.
  • Manage the video editing process, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Write stories for the website and other eMedia platforms, showcasing the company's commitment to digital content.
  • Interact with viewers and users through engaging content, fostering a strong connection with the audience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the news team.

**Requirements & Skills:**

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
  • Fluency in English, with excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Minimum two years' experience in news operations, with a strong understanding of the industry.
  • Proficiency with computers, telephones, and other office equipment, with the ability to learn new software and systems.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work any shift, with a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.

**Compensation:** $18+/hr commensurate with experience and skill level.
