Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at Texas Inter-Faith Management. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our properties, including performing routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs to buildings, mechanical equipment, and other facilities-related systems.
  • Coordinate and execute preventative maintenance work orders to ensure the continued operation of our properties.
  • Prepare vacant units for new tenants, including making necessary repairs and ensuring the unit is in a safe and habitable condition.
  • Conduct electrical repairs and light fixture replacements, as well as plumbing fixture replacements.
  • Perform carpentry repairs, including cabinet and door repairs.
  • Troubleshoot work orders and maintain/clean grounds and common areas.
  • Monitor and inspect building systems, including fire, electrical, security, and elevator systems, and report any unsafe areas to the Lead Maintenance.
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment that adheres to OSHA and all safety standards.
  • Assist with a preventive maintenance program for all building interiors and exteriors, including pools and fitness equipment.
  • Respond to service requests within 24 hours and ensure that all service requests are completed correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain proper inventory of all tools and supplies needed.
  • Ensure all physical aspects of the building, grounds, and amenities meet the Company's standard for cleanliness, appearance, safety, and overall functionality.
Requirements
  • Prior experience as an apartment maintenance technician or similar role.
  • Must have experience in plumbing, electrical repair, painting, appliance repair, and drywall.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, insurance, and car registration, if driving for business purposes.
  • Ability to be on-call and on the property on short notice, when needed.
  • HVAC Certified, preferred.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related field.
