About the Role

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team at TruRoots. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for recording daily financial transactions accurately, reviewing and processing employee expense reports, and researching and resolving deductions and short pays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Record daily financial transactions accurately, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other general ledger transactions.
  • Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policy.
  • Secure and organize deduction/dispute backup from customers.
  • Research and resolve all types of deductions and short pays, in accordance with established policy and authorization limits.
  • Maintain documentation in an orderly manner for tax, audit, and other purposes.
  • Develop relationships with internal partners, including Sales, Distribution, Marketing, and Finance.
  • Maintain fixed and intangible asset registers, as well as depreciation and amortization schedules.
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Prepare and enter journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and other schedules.
  • Utilize NetSuite, the company's ERP system, to manage financial data and generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting, including financial statements.
Requirements
  • High school diploma and associates or bachelors degree or comparable experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in an AR management / general accounting position in the CPG industry.
  • Basic knowledge of general accounting concepts and practices, with concentrated knowledge in accounts receivable.
  • Ability to effectively work well with team members in all cross-functional departments.
  • Ability to research, summarize, and present facts in writing and verbally to internal teams and customers.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong customer service skills when dealing with customers, field sales, and brokers.
  • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to reason, think logically, and analyze problems.
  • Ability to work in a variety of information systems, databases, and customer web-based systems to perform research.
  • Experience with ERP systems, NetSuite experience a plus.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
