Electrical Lineworker

The Entergy System of Companies is seeking a skilled and experienced Lineworker to join our team. As a Lineworker, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and construction of electrical transmission and distribution lines.
Key Responsibilities- Perform all aspects of lineworker job functions, including maintenance and construction of electrical transmission and distribution lines.
- Work in enclosed spaces, manholes, and vaults to perform tasks such as troubleshooting, splicing, and repair of energized underground secondary cable circuits.
- Learn and perform switching of 3-phase distribution circuits in vaults and substations.
- Perform advanced lineworker tasks, including construction of vaults, locate and correct backfeed situations, troubleshoot and repair energized 277/480V network protectors, and automatic transfer switches.
- Install communication equipment (Secondary Monitoring) in vaults.
- Perform complex troubleshooting of underground circuits using VLF, capacitor discharge, TDR, and Arc Reflexional Methods.
- Knowledge and understanding of network protector relay schemes and Secondary Mesh Network Systems.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1.5 years to 2 years of field distribution experience for Lineworker Mech, II.
- 2.5 years to 3 years of field distribution experience for Lineworker Mech, III.
- 3.5 years to 4 years of field distribution experience for Lineworker Mech, Sr.
- Ability to work irregular hours and out of town assignments as required.
- Good communication skills and ability to take and understand directives and complete tasks.
- Required to work safely and follow all Entergy safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to learn through classroom instruction, OJT and repetitive motions.
- Ability to recognize hazards in the workplace and have the ability to mitigate the hazards.
- Ability to maintain and care for Company equipment properly and safeguard assets.
- Ability to meet the public in a pleasant and tactful manner and understand the importance of delivering a high level of customer service.
- Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvement.
- Demonstrated acceptance of a diverse and inclusive work environment and customer base.
