Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Nurse Specialist to join our team at Ascension Saint Thomas. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing top-notch care to patients undergoing diagnostic, therapeutic, and interventional procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab.

About the Job

This role requires a licensed Registered Nurse with experience in cardiovascular nursing. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a strong commitment to patient-centered care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic, therapeutic, and interventional procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab.
  • Assess, prepare, and position patients for procedures. Perform conscious sedation and hemodynamic monitoring as necessary.
  • Prepare, implement, and document plans of care. Communicate patient conditions to physicians before, during, and after procedures.
  • Perform and/or facilitate diagnostic, therapeutic, and interventional procedures.
  • Set up and provide equipment and supplies before, during, and after procedures.

  • Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.
  • Evaluate learning needs of patients and families, providing age-specific and culturally appropriate education.
Requirements
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration:
    • Advanced Life Support (ALS) obtained within 6 months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
    • BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
    • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Education:
    • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is $85,000-$110,000 based on location and qualifications.
