Fraud Detection Specialist

American Heritage Credit Union is a leading financial institution with a reputation for excellence and innovation. We are seeking a talented Fraud Data Analyst to join our team in Philadelphia, PA.

In this role, you will work closely with the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team to prevent fraud and manage losses by analyzing data trends, identifying potential risks, and developing strategies to mitigate them. You will leverage your analytical skills, experience with data mining tools, and knowledge of risk management principles to drive results and improve our operations.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent combination of education and experience;
• 1-3 years of experience using advanced data mining tools and large datasets, performing statistical analysis, and conducting predictive modeling;
• Financial institution experience and industry knowledge required;
• Experience with analyzing Payment Data, ACH/Wire data, Fraud data, Financial Crime data;
• Significant experience with relational databases, scripting languages, and database concepts;
• Knowledge of risk management and control principles;

Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Developing and maintaining metrics and reports to track fraud trends and identify areas for improvement;
• Reviewing system-generated alerts for potentially fraudulent activity and performing detailed research and investigation on identified threats;
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze suspicious activity and provide mitigation recommendations;
• Building and maintaining tools and processes to collect and track data, troubleshoot errors, and ensure best practices for fraud identification, escalation, and mitigation are effectively adhered to;
• Leveraging data to understand fraudulent behavior, identify trends that indicate elevated risk, and reporting findings to the ERM team and management;

Benefits and Compensation
