The Staff Development Registered Nurse is a key member of our team at OH SNF Milford Opco LLC, responsible for assessing, planning, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and coordinating the center's Staff Development Program. Key Responsibilities
  • Staff Development Program Management
    • Develop and conduct training programs for employees to ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation requirements.
    • Assess resident needs and design training programs to meet those needs.
    • Monitor employee performance and take necessary action for compliance issues.
  • Clinical Orientation and Instruction
    • Provide hands-on clinical orientation and instruction to licensed and unlicensed personnel.
    • Conduct or coordinate new employee job training and CPR training.
  • Employee Health and Wellness
    • Manage the Employee Health program.
    • Assist in department budget preparation and contain expenditures within budget.
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Conduct and coordinate OSHA/Risk Management program with oversight of documentation requirements.
    • Ensure the educational curriculum in the center meets or exceeds state, federal, and accreditation requirements.
  • Training and Development
    • Develop and conduct state and federally required in-service programs.
    • Conduct certification or training programs for Nursing Assistants.
  • Other Responsibilities
    • Perform other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BS degree preferred.
  • Licenses/Certification
    • Licensed as a RN required.
    • Valid CPR teaching certificate, if applicable.
    • Current with state Continuing Education (CE) Requirements.
  • Experience
    • Three years of nursing experience, of which one year was in a long-term care environment.
    • One year of experience as an instructor preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Knowledge of learning principles and training techniques.
    • Skilled in developing and conducting training programs.
    • Skilled in work assessment.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and at all levels of the organization.
    • Knowledge of state and federal requirements for accreditation and certification.
    • Possesses basic computer skills.
    • Ability to work with a culturally diverse resident and employee population.
