Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Travel Position

Job Summary: Tact Staff is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a travel job in a reputable healthcare institution.

Job Description:

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs various Nuclear Medicine procedures under the supervision of a qualified physician. The ideal candidate will utilize radiopharmaceuticals and imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patient medical problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform radionuclide procedures under the authorization of a physician with a Radioactive Materials License.
  • Prepare radiopharmaceuticals for administration by injection, ingestion, and inhalation.
  • Observe all regulations for control of radiation and practice radiation safety procedures.
  • Assist Radiologist in the therapeutic use of radioisotopes under prescribed safety conditions.
  • Competently operate all nuclear medicine equipment and support systems.
  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient care and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of isotopes used.
  • Complete quality control on scanning equipment.
  • Utilize department computer systems, files, and PACS to review patient history and provide accurate documentation of studies.
  • Properly care for and image patients of all ages.
  • Coordinate inpatient/outpatient exams within the department and with other departments to provide expedient and complete care.
  • Communicate with medical staff, coworkers, patients, families, and other hospital staff to assure quality patient care.

Requirements:

  • Graduate from a nuclear medicine program or equivalency required.
  • Current certification or certification within three (3) months of hire by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Nuclear Medicine required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Physical Requirements: The Nuclear Medicine Technologist must be able to lift, push, and pull equipment and supplies as needed.

Dress Code: Black pants and jackets are required, with black or red tops allowed. White, black, or gray t-shirts can be worn under scrub tops. Modest shoes with a mostly solid color of black, white, or gray are required.
