Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures, positioning patients, and selecting technical factors and equipment to obtain high-quality scans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Position patients and select technical factors and equipment to obtain high-quality scans
  • Operate portable ultrasound equipment to perform procedures as requested throughout the hospital
  • Assist physicians with recommendations for obtaining optimal studies by suggesting technical factors for procedures
  • Deliver patient care and maintain department standards of continued quality improvement
  • Prepare ultrasound rooms by ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available
  • Utilize appropriate phone etiquette and provide a private environment for patients
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and follow hospital policies
  • Follow in-and-out patient identification policy and maintain a timely flow of patients in room assignments or work areas
  • Treat patients and customers with respect and compassion and transport patients when indicated
  • Document department records, including inventories of supplies and patient statistics, to ensure adequate supplies and proper patient records
Requirements
  • ARDMS Registry eligible
  • ARDMS Registry to be successfully completed within first year of employment
  • CPR Certification
  • Ability to adjust to flexible hours and work odd hours, including late hours and on-call shifts
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform lifting activities related to patients
  • Exposure to radiation and ability to operate portable equipment
  • Ability to communicate with patients and deal with extremely ill patients
  • Ability to participate in on-call program and available to department needs with minimal notice
