Job Summary: Mid Continent Engineering is seeking a skilled Welding Supervisor to oversee the grinding, deburring, and welding of metal products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding and leadership, with experience in managing a team of 10+ employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze work orders and blueprints to determine material requirements and operation sequences.
  • Requisition dies, fixtures, and materials as needed.
  • Examine defective machinery to identify causes of malfunction and report necessary repairs.
  • Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for job completion.
  • Interview, hire, and train employees, as well as plan and direct work assignments.
  • Interpret company policies and enforce safety regulations.
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving issues.
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintain time and production records.
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate department activities.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D; Preferred degree in a technical or relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a supervisor and 10+ years of welding experience or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Specific Lean Manufacturing background desired.
  • Blueprint reading with G.D.T. experience.
  • Organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Solid computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Experience with Epicor ERP Software is a plus.

Work Environment: The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on meeting production schedules and ensuring quality products. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing circumstances.

Compensation: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
