Position Overview:

The Global Finance Operations Record to Report team is on the lookout for a meticulous and proactive individual to assume the role of Manager, Global Account Reconciliations Quality Assurance. This pivotal position provides an exceptional opportunity to engage at the crossroads of accounting, auditing, and the evolution of NBCU's account reconciliation standards. The Manager will oversee the enterprise-wide quality assessment of account reconciliations, spearheading continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of accounting principles and internal controls, complemented by outstanding analytical skills and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluation Strategy: Formulate evaluation strategies and programs based on risk assessments and control objectives to effectively execute the evaluation process.
  • Risk Analysis: Perform risk analyses to identify and assess potential risks within the organization's operations, processes, and systems.
  • Execution of Evaluations: Conduct evaluations, including process walkthroughs with business stakeholders, understanding controls surrounding processes, reviewing documentation, and analyzing data to assess compliance and control effectiveness.
  • Documentation of Findings: Record evaluation results, including deficiencies, weaknesses, and areas of non-compliance in evaluation workpapers and reports.
  • Recommendations for Improvement: Offer suggestions for enhancing internal controls, processes, and procedures to mitigate risks, boost efficiency, and ensure compliance.
  • Communication & Follow-Up: Relay audit findings and recommendations to management and relevant stakeholders, presenting results in written reports and meetings. Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations to ensure effective corrective actions are taken.
  • Training Development: Contribute to the creation of enterprise-wide account reconciliations training programs, providing guidance and support on best practices and standards.
  • Knowledge Management: Establish and maintain a repository of best practices, templates, and tools to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration across business units.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Cultivate relationships with leaders across business units, collaborating to enhance current account reconciliation processes and standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for ongoing improvement within the Quality Assurance Center of Excellence team, gathering feedback from stakeholders and implementing changes to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
Qualifications:

Essential Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in accounting.
  • 3+ years of experience in public accounting or 5+ years in private accounting/internal audit.
  • CPA or CIA certification preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles (US GAAP) with a strong technical accounting, process, and controls background.
  • Proficiency in various systems, including the MS Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, and advanced Excel skills such as macros, pivot tables, and lookup functions).
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for data analysis and trend identification.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a willingness to learn and adapt to evolving business needs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • International experience preferred, with an understanding of currencies and foreign exchange.
  • Experience in the entertainment industry preferred.
