About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Software Engineer to join our team at Proscia, a pioneering force in pathology digitization.

As an integral part of our cross-functional team, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality APIs that empower pathologists to diagnose patients more accurately and efficiently. Your expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, SQL, and distributed systems will play a crucial role in building and enhancing our applications.

You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external customers to troubleshoot and optimize API usage, ensuring seamless data exchange and system integrations. Your passion for delivering high-quality software solutions will drive your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust and efficient APIs using best practices and scalability techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and address software requirements, driving innovative solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and external customers to resolve API-related issues, providing exceptional support and optimizing API usage.
  • Build and enhance distributed systems, leveraging expertise in RabbitMQ and Redis to ensure optimal performance.
  • Integrate healthcare applications to facilitate seamless data exchange and interoperability, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying knowledge to drive innovation and improvement.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong background in API development.
  • Excellent proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, and SQL, with experience in database design and optimization.
  • Significant experience with AWS services and APIs, with a strong understanding of cloud computing principles.
  • Background in imaging technology, with knowledge of Whole Slide Imaging and IIIF APIs.
  • Experience with analysis, design, and implementation of RESTful services and APIs, with a strong understanding of OpenAPI/Swagger.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions.
Compensation:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $140,000 - $160,000, depending on experience.

This compensation package includes competitive pay, as well as additional benefits such as savings options, schedule flexibility, and insurance programs designed to promote long-term health and personal growth.
