Position Overview:
The role involves the effective installation, operation, and upkeep of fire sprinkler systems. Key responsibilities include conducting inspections, testing, and performing system evaluations. You will play a crucial role in identifying system shortcomings and preparing detailed inspection reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on fire suppression systems.
- Conduct service and inspections of various fire suppression systems including wet, dry, and pre-action systems.
- Install, maintain, repair, or replace fire sprinkler systems in compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Engage with clients professionally and courteously.
- Install or upgrade fire sprinklers in both commercial and residential properties.
- Test and repair existing alarm systems.
- Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with installation codes.
- Complete thorough inspection reports, documenting any issues and providing timely updates on work performed.
- Safeguard and maintain company equipment.
- Inspect and manage the service vehicle and related equipment, submitting repair requests as needed.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely, ensuring efficient loading and unloading of the service vehicle.
- Adhere to company safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment.
- Respond to emergency service requests.
- Maintain a tidy and safe work environment.
- Follow directions and work independently when required.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience with fire sprinkler systems is preferred. Familiarity with both commercial and residential systems is essential. Strong troubleshooting skills are required. Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary for effective teamwork and independent work. A clean driving record and reliable transportation are mandatory. Flexibility in scheduling is important, as evening, weekend, and out-of-town assignments may be necessary. Knowledge of fire safety principles and relevant codes and regulations is required. The ability to maintain accurate records and reports is essential.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to stand, walk, use hands for handling and reaching, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and occasionally lift heavy objects. Physical abilities necessary for this role include balancing, climbing, grasping, hearing, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, repetitive motion, speaking, and visual acuity.
