Job Description

The Multiphysics Computations Group at Argonne National Laboratory is seeking a highly skilled postdoctoral researcher to join our team. As a postdoctoral researcher, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team working on advanced computational methods for multiphysics simulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement advanced computational methods for multiphysics simulations, including CFD and reduced-order modeling.
  • Collaborate with experimentalists and staff scientists to design and conduct experiments to validate simulation results.
  • Develop and maintain high-performance computing codes for large-scale simulations.
  • Conduct research on advanced topics in multiphysics simulations, including modeling of multiphase flows, heat transfer, and external aerodynamics.
  • Present research results at conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in mechanical/aerospace engineering, applied mathematics, chemical engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong background in CFD and parallel scientific computing.
  • Experience with modeling and simulation of three-dimensional multiphase flow applications using 3-D CFD codes.
  • Expertise in fluid dynamics and heat and mass transfer.
  • Desirable skills include experience with reduced-complexity modeling, dynamical systems modeling, and large scientific code management and optimization.
