Nutrition Services Specialist

As a key member of the Brenham Independent School District's Child Nutrition team, the Nutrition Services Specialist will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of students by preparing and serving high-quality meals. This position requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve meals according to a planned menu and standardized recipes
Maintain high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, and safety practices
Store and handle food items and supplies safely and according to established procedures
Operate tools and equipment according to prescribed safety standards
Correct unsafe conditions in the work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to the manager immediately
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Texas Food Handler's Certificate
Ability to speak well with students, staff, parents, and the general public
Ability to read and understand instructions, short correspondence, memos, and recipes
Working knowledge of kitchen equipment and food production procedures
Ability to operate large and small kitchen equipment and tools
Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations
Working Conditions:
Continual standing and walking; pushing and pulling, moderate lifting pounds
Moderate exposure to extreme hot and/or cold temperatures, moisture, excessive humidity, wet floors, and noise from equipment
Working around machinery with moving parts
Work with hands in water
Work on slippery surfaces
