JOB OVERVIEW:

The Dining Services Associate is responsible for delivering meals to residents and guests in a professional and appealing manner, ensuring a high-quality dining experience in a restaurant-style setting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintain confidentiality regarding residents, their conditions, and family matters.
  2. Adhere to established corporate and departmental policies and procedures, upholding standards and practices.
  3. Assist in meal tray preparation by arranging condiments, utensils, food, beverages, and special items.
  4. Prepare dining areas by setting tables with linens, decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, utensils, and menus.
  5. Serve meals on trays and/or tables in an attractive and appetizing manner.
  6. Provide table service in a restaurant-style format, utilizing proper serving etiquette.
  7. Contribute to a positive dining atmosphere for residents and guests.
  8. Assist in meal preparation as needed.
  9. Deliver tray carts and snacks to nursing areas or floors.
  10. Ensure daily cleaning and sanitation of dishes, utensils, equipment, and work areas by following established sanitation procedures.
  11. Support special food events (banquets, teas, etc.).
  12. Perform additional tasks as directed by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred experience in food service.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • High standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Capability to repeatedly push tray carts and lift or carry a minimum of 25 pounds throughout an eight-hour shift.
  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of an eight-hour shift.
  • Must treat residents and the public with kindness and respect in a cheerful manner.
  • Familiarity with point of service systems is preferred.
