Job Summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced, full-time Board-Certified Pathologist to lead our established Pathology department at Carle Foundation Hospital in Illinois.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of the clinical laboratory, ensuring high-quality patient care and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Lead a team of pathologists and laboratory professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve laboratory efficiency, productivity, and patient satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with medical directors and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of pathology services across the health system.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in pathology and laboratory medicine, applying knowledge to improve patient care and departmental performance.
Requirements
  • Board Certification in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology (or Clinical Pathology with experience in laboratory operations).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in laboratory leadership or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
