QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experienced mechanics in petroleum, chemical, and dry bulk tank systems are encouraged to apply.
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- A valid driver's license is required; a CDL is preferred.
- Candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment screening.
- Experience with DOT and ASME tank repairs is essential.
- Familiarity with moving trailers in and out of the shop is advantageous.
- Proficiency in welding aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel tanks and components is necessary.
- Understanding of tank plumbing and operational systems is required.
- Experience in installing power takeoffs, drive lines, and product pumping systems is beneficial.
- Knowledge of DOT tank inspection procedures and testing equipment is a plus.
- Layout and fabrication skills are desirable.
- Registered Inspector training and certification are advantageous.
- Applicants must possess their own tools.
- Inspector credentials are preferred for the ideal candidate.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment involves exposure to high noise levels, temperature fluctuations, and various weather conditions. Employees will engage in metal welding processes and handle chemicals, including solvents, undercoating, paint, and caulking. The setting is fast-paced, with moving equipment and motorized vehicles.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to stand, bend, squat, kneel, push, and pull for a minimum of eight hours is required.
- Regular lifting and carrying of up to 35 pounds is necessary; frequently up to 55 pounds, and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
- Capability to work in environments requiring the use of ladders, stairs, heights, and tight spaces under trailers.
- Must operate a variety of power and hand tools safely, work with compressed air, and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE).
