Position Overview
The public cloud sector has experienced rapid growth, with enterprise users accessing applications from various locations, sometimes through non-enterprise devices. Certain industries are increasingly allowing employees to use personal devices (BYOD). There is a pressing demand for creative engineers to develop software that mitigates cyber threats in cloud environments. In this role, you will establish security practices to address real-world issues and significant cybersecurity challenges.
You are passionate about coding and creating outstanding products, consistently bringing fresh ideas to all aspects of software development. You possess strong technical skills, a deep understanding of browser internals, and experience with browser engines such as Chromium, Webkit, or Firefox. You thrive on solving complex challenges for customers and are motivated by the prospect of tackling uncharted technological territories.
Your Contributions
- Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, deployment, and support.
- Produce clean, testable, readable, scalable, and maintainable code that performs efficiently for a large user base.
- Engage actively in design and development discussions, contributing valuable insights.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of browser internals and effectively communicate design concepts to team members.
Qualifications
Your Background
- 5+ years of robust experience in C++ programming.
- Strong knowledge of Data Structures, Algorithms, and Object-Oriented Design.
- Proficiency in JavaScript.
- Experience with Chromium or any browser engine, or developing features on top of a browser.
- Familiarity with cache, cookies, HTTP/HTTPS, and other security protocols.
- Understanding of HTML5 and CSS.
- Knowledge of the V8 engine is advantageous.
- Familiarity with network protocols.
- Experience in multi-threaded and multi-process environments.
- Deep knowledge of web development best practices (e.g., performance, memory management).
- Proficiency with source code management tools.
- Experience with open-source projects.
- Ability to manage large codebases, spanning several gigabytes.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Golang applications is a plus.
- Experience in designing and building scalable microservices architectures and REST APIs is beneficial.
- Experience in developing multi-threaded concurrent systems.
- Knowledge of video/media streaming protocols.
- Experience with RPC mechanisms.
- Familiarity with databases such as Neo4j, SQL, BigQuery, etc.
- Able to debug and analyze complex issues.
- Chromium/WebKit committer status is a plus.

The compensation for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $170,000 and $235,000 annually.
