Inova Therapy Programs is on the lookout for a PRN Art Therapist I to become a valuable member of our team.
The Art Therapist is responsible for delivering art therapy services in both individual and group environments. This role requires the integration of clinical insights that take into account cultural, clinical, ethnic, age, and other relevant factors into the care plan. The Art Therapist will provide a variety of therapeutic interventions, psycho-educational programming, and behavioral strategies (when necessary) to support patients and their families in meeting the goals outlined in their personalized service plans. Additionally, this position involves care coordination to ensure that patients and families receive appropriate healthcare and community resources to enhance treatment outcomes. The Art Therapist may also engage in inpatient and community psychoeducational initiatives, leading groups focused on specific mental health challenges, medical diagnoses, and chronic or life-limiting conditions, while also contributing to community outreach efforts as needed.
This is a PRN position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in inpatient and community psychoeducational programs as required, facilitating support groups for specific mental health issues, medical diagnoses, and chronic or life-limiting conditions while aiding in community outreach as necessary.
- Maintain documentation and execute administrative tasks relevant to the clinical role and/or department.
- Comply with Inova Health System's Culture of Safety and contribute to fostering a professional environment throughout the organization.
- Commit to enhancing professional knowledge, developing expertise, and pursuing licensure and certifications. Adhere to the Code of Ethics and participate in staff meetings and professional committees as assigned.
- Completion of an internship in mental health or substance use disorder treatment within 90 days of employment.
- Master's Degree in Art Therapy.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 3 months of hire.
- Crisis Prevention Institute certification within 6 months of hire.
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP), or Licensed Substance Abuse Professional (LSATP).
