Pharmacy Technician Job Description

At ASP Cares, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Answer telephones and respond to patient, doctor, and clinic requests in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs, adhering to strict protocols and regulations.
  • Assist customers by answering simple questions, locating items, or referring them to the pharmacist for medication information.
  • Pre-pack bulk medicines, fill bottles with prescribed medications, and type and affix labels accurately and efficiently.
  • Establish or maintain patient profiles, including lists of medications taken by individual patients, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Receive written prescription or refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate before processing.
  • Order, label, and count medication stock, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to patients and nursing stations.
  • Price and file prescriptions that have been filled, maintaining accurate records and adhering to company policies.
  • Operate cash registers to accept payment from customers, handling transactions efficiently and accurately.
  • Clean and help maintain equipment or work areas, adhering to strict sanitation and hygiene protocols.
  • Mix pharmaceutical preparations, according to written prescriptions, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Prepare and process medical insurance claim forms and records, ensuring timely and accurate submission.
  • Price stock and mark items for sale, maintaining accurate inventory and adhering to company pricing policies.
  • Deliver medications or pharmaceutical supplies to patients, nursing stations, or surgery, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Transfer medication from vials to the appropriate number of sterile, disposable syringes, using aseptic techniques to maintain patient safety.
  • Maintain and merchandise home healthcare products or services, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Pharmacist-in-Charge, ensuring flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
